Our take
Ridgeline takes up to six people onto West Wanaka Station, a working farm you can't otherwise drive. The listing gives about 4 to 4.5 hours from outside the Wanaka i-SITE on Ardmore Street, at 8:30am or in the afternoon, with views of the lake, the Southern Alps and Mount Aspiring National Park, heritage sites and two optional walks. Morning or afternoon tea, lunch and commentary are included.
On our Wanaka tours comparison it's the back country option for people who want the views without hiking. It has about 95 reviews close to 5. It needs at least two people, isn't recommended for pregnant travellers and has no pickup, so you get yourself to Ardmore Street. The plan sheet called it an off road safari; the live listing calls it the Wild Hills 4WD Safari. No traveller video of this tour turned up.
