Do you run these tours?

No. Southern Lakes Tours compares tours sold on Viator. The operator runs the trip, Viator takes the booking and the payment, and we explain the differences so you can choose.

Is it cheaper to book somewhere else?

The price you pay through us is the same as booking that tour on Viator directly. Operators sometimes sell on their own sites at a different price, and we don't track those. Viator's price is shown live on each card.

What happens if the weather cancels my trip?

The operator makes the call on the day. When an operator cancels for weather, you're normally offered another date or a full refund. Scenic flights and glacier heli hikes need clear enough skies to fly, so leave a spare day in your plans if you can.

Can I cancel a booking?

Most day trips on this site can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours before they start. Some can't: both Milford Sound overnight cruises are non-refundable. Each card shows the rule for its tour, and your confirmation repeats it.

Who do I contact about a booking?

Viator, for payment, changes and refunds. The operator, for anything on the day, such as pickup times or running late. Their number is on your confirmation. We can't change a booking, but the booking help page sets out who handles what.

How do you decide which tours appear?

Every tour has to pass the same rules: at least 10 reviews, a rating of 3.9 or higher, and no more than 12 on a page. Nobody pays to be listed or to move up. The full rules are on how we choose tours.
