Our take
The Fiordland Jewel's lunch cruise takes 38 guests at most on a 2 hour sailing at 12:30pm. You meet the crew at the Fiordland Discovery desk in the terminal at 12pm and board at 12:15. A chef-prepared lunch, tea and coffee are included, with dietary needs catered for if you say so in advance. Drinks from the bar and parking are extra. On our Milford Sound cruise comparison it's the better of the two lunch cruises if the meal is the point, with a smaller boat than RealNZ's premium sailing. Children are welcome from age 6, and adult fares apply to them. It isn't wheelchair accessible. The fixed midday departure suits drivers from Te Anau who leave mid morning.

Check in at the Fiordland Discovery desk inside the Milford Sound main visitor terminal building at 12:00pm. Boarding the boat at 12:15pm for a 12:30pm departure from the wharf. Return to the wharf at 2:30pm.
